General

What is ShareCharge?
ShareCharge is a platform that connects EV drivers with owners of charging points. Do you have a charger or parking space that often sits unused? Then you can share it with others. Looking for a place to charge nearby? Through ShareCharge you'll find available charging points offered by individuals.
How does ShareCharge work, in short?
In three steps: you find an available charging point near you on the map, you reserve it and charge your car, and you pay securely in the app. Providers earn from every session, while EV drivers charge close to home.
When does ShareCharge go live?
We're working hard towards launch. Sign up for our pre-registration and we'll be the first to let you know as soon as ShareCharge goes live in your region.
In which regions is ShareCharge available?
From launch, ShareCharge will be available throughout the Netherlands. Through pre-registration we can see where demand is highest per region, so we can actively grow the number of charging points where it matters most.
What do I need to get started?
A free account and the ShareCharge app. After that you can immediately search for charging points nearby, or offer your own charger and parking space.
What does it cost to use ShareCharge?
Creating an account is free. Providers set the rate for their own charging point. ShareCharge charges a small service fee per transaction to maintain the platform and enable secure payments. We'll announce the exact rates around launch.

For EV drivers

How do I find a charging point nearby?
In the app you can see available charging points near you on the map. You can filter by availability, price and type of charging point, and plan a session in advance.
Can I see what a charging session costs in advance?
Yes. You always see the provider's rate before you reserve, so there are never any surprises.
Can I reserve a parking space as well?
Often, yes. Many providers share not only their charger but also the parking space that goes with it, so you can be sure there's room to charge.
How do I pay for charging?
Payments are handled securely in the app via Wero (formerly known as iDEAL). Paying is simple, and afterwards you receive an overview of all your charging sessions.
Is it safe to charge at a private individual's place?
All accounts are verified and users rate each other with reviews, so you know in advance who you're dealing with. We're building the platform with safety as a guiding principle.

For providers

How do I earn money with my charger?
You make your charger or parking space available at times when you're not using it yourself, and you set your own rate. EV drivers can then charge at your place and you get paid for it. That way you earn passive income from infrastructure that would otherwise sit unused.
Do I need to own an electric car to share my charger?
No. Do you have a charger, for example one that came as standard with a newly built home, but no electric car (yet)? You can still share it and earn from it.
How do I set a good rate?
You set your own rate. A good guideline is to at least cover your electricity costs and add a reasonable fee on top for the use of your charger.
Do I decide when my charger is available?
Yes, you're fully in control. You decide which days and times your charger is available, and you can adjust this at any moment.
How and when do I get paid out?
Your earnings are tracked in the app and paid out to your account. You always keep insight into your sessions and income.
What if my charger gets damaged?
Safety and peace of mind for providers are our priority. We're working on additional protection for situations where something unexpectedly goes wrong. As soon as we know more, we'll communicate it clearly.
